It took until the 3rd period but the Boston Bruins woke up and showed that they are a far better team than the Carolina Hurricanes.

That was one amazing game for Boston Bruins fans. It took a while but Boston showed just how good they are. They flipped the switch in the 3rd period.

Just looking at the score will make you think that the game was back and forth but it really wasn’t. The first two periods were dominated by the Carolina Hurricanes.

More from Chowder and Champions

James Reimer was impeccable in net and it looked like Boston was about to be shutout. Thankfully that didn’t end up happening. Boston won 4-3 and now 1 game away from moving on.

As I mentioned, everything wasn’t rainbows and butterflies for the team. Boston struggled to get the puck in the net no matter how many chances they got.

Also, Jaroslav Halak had a rough game. The first two goals he gave up shouldn’t have gone in. It showed how much the Bruins will miss Tuukka Rask.

Halak needs to be better. The Boston Bruins can’t make an epic comeback as they did on Monday every game.

It was a battle of attrition and Boston finally wore down Reimer and the Hurricanes. They are in the driver’s seat of the series and they definitley deserve to be.

So let’s not waste any time and let’s talk about the 3 stars of Boston’s amazing comeback effort on Monday night.
