New England Patriots QB Cam Newton spoke to the media on Wednesday and said that he is not the starter. I got some news for him, he is.

The New England Patriots are known for their interesting interviews. Players barely divulge secrets or give opponents bulletin board material. Even players who have just begun their time with the team can quickly adapt.

It was interesting to see how Cam Newton and Bill Belichick would work with one another. One player is known for his flair and the other is known for having the personality of a rock.

So far things have gone well. Belichick has been impressed by Newton and he has appeared to claim the starting job.

But it appears Newton has learned the ways of the Patriots. When asked if he considered himself the starter, Newton offered an interesting answer.

"“Absolutely not. Every day is a workday for me. That label is not important to me right now,” Newton told reporters. “I have so much I need to get better at, so much I need to learn, so much I need to be comfortable with. Throughout this process, that’s the last thing that I’m pretty much worried about.”"

Now, this might shock Cam, but he is definitley the starter. He has gotten the most reps in recent practices and is the most talented quarterback on the roster. It would be stunning if he didn’t start Week One. The only thing that could possibly delay that is Newton getting hurt.

So far in camp, Newton has looked healthy. He has bee rather mobile and also showed off his arm strength with some impressive deep balls.

The 2020 season is an important one for Newton. He has to show the rest of the NFL that they made a big mistake not signing him. It’s crazy to think that the former MVP was a free agent for so long.

With Newton leading the team, the possibilities are endless. The Patriots were likely to make the playoffs due to their defense. Now that Newton is the starter could they get back to the Super Bowl? Fans will just have to wait and see.

So even though Newton won’t say it we all know who is the starter in New England. It’s Cam Newton.
