Short passing game means more James White

The Seattle Seahawks will not allow Cam Newton to beat them on the ground, so the veteran quarterback will have to prove he can move the ball throwing.  He will have to do this with a lack of trust at the wide receiver position.

This means Newton will go to his tight ends and running backs, particularly James White who is the team’s second most reliable receiver behind Julian Edelman at this point.

The Seahawks have speed on defense, but they did allow over 500 total yards to the Atlanta Falcons, so there are some yards to be gained here, especially if they blitz Cam Newton a lot and he is allowed to get the ball off.

A lot of short passes and creative screen plays will set up James White to have one of those James White games he has become known for.

While draw plays and a few option plays will keep the Seahawks off balance, they will have a tough time matching up with White and Rex Burkhead in that quick passing game.

In this game, expect James White to be a favorite target of Cam Newton as his ability on the field really plays to the strength of the veteran quarterback.

Bold prediction: James White will have 8 catches for over 75 yards.
