Look for Rex Burkhead to shine vs Las Vegas Raiders

With James White out for this game, look for the New England Patriots to utilize the versatility of Rex Burkhead.

More from Chowder and Champions

The Las Vegas Raiders enter this game giving up 120.5 yards per game on the ground, so look for the Patriots running backs, along with Cam Newton to put some pressure on the defense with a mix of running plays and quick passes to the running back.

With his versatility and ability to play all downs, Burkhead is due for a big game and I predict it comes in Week 3.

Along with Sony Michel and J.J. Taylor, it should be a pretty effective day for the running back group, but Rex Burkhead will stand out in all purpose yards.  He did have four catches for 47 yards last week against the Seattle Seahawks, but he was quiet running the ball with just two yards on six carries.

He makes up for it this week as the New England Patriots will keep that Raiders defense off balance with a nice mix of run and pass plays.  Of course, Josh McDaniels will keep them guessing in the way he calls plays for Cam Newton.

I believe the play calling will feature a heavy dose of Rex Burkhead.

Bold Prediction: Burkhead leads the offense with 120 or more all-purpose yards.
