The New England Patriots might have struggled in 2020, but there are still some reasons for fans to be thankful this year.

It has been a rough year for New England Patriots fans. The team is having one of its worst seasons in 20 years, but that doesn’t mean that there is no reason to be happy.

There is still hope in New England even though the Patriots playoff chances are effectively at zero. The future isn’t all gloom.

Some players have risen to the occasion in 2020. They have been forced to with the Patriots being ravaged by injuries and also opt-outs at the beginning of the year.

This was also due to the fact that the Patriots had to deal with the departure of Tom Brady, Kyle Van Noy, Jamie Collins, and plenty of other players.

So let’s look at the reasons why Patriots fans should be thankful in 2020.

New England Patriots: 3 reasons for fans to be thankful in 2020 – No.3: The 2021 Draft will be interesting

When it comes to the draft, Patriots fans don’t usually have a reason to tune in. Rookies rarely play in their first season and New England loves to trade back. It’s fair to say that won’t be happening in 2021.

The Patriots need to select a gamechanger in 2021. This will likely be a quarterback or an offensive playmaker.

Cam Newton is not a long-term solution under center. He has done a great job so far in 2020 but no one even knows if he will be back next season.

Even if Newton is back the Patriots need to find their QB of the future. Getting to learn from Newton would be quite the experience for a rookie QB.

But Patriots fans will be rather anxious and excited for the 2021 NFL Draft. That is something we aren’t used to in New England.
