How leadership on and off the court has turned Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown into a respected NBA star.

Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown is an emerging NBA star who has become of the most respected players in the in all of sports and he is just 24 years old.

Entering his fifth NBA season, Brown is not only growing on the court by the minute, he is also demonstrating leadership off the court that is really making him a very special player, especially in the city of Boston.

New teammate Jeff Teague spoke of that reputation when asked about the talent of Jaylen Brown and how his leadership shines through his heart.

"“He’s got a great heart.  When I first got here was the first guy to call me and tell me, ‘man if I need anything,’” Teague said Saturday, as transcribed by NESN.  “He’ll show me around the city and let me know anything.  That’s just the person he is.  Since I’ve been here, he’s texted me every day to see if I was cool, If I needed anything.  Where to go eat, what’s a cool spot to order in from.  That’s just the kind of person he is.”"

Along with his quest to create change in the world, Jaylen Brown is also passionate in delivering another championship to the city of Boston.  Along with emerging superstar Jayson Tatum, Brown’s elevation on the court is just on the cusp of greatness.

As a two-way difference maker on the court, Brown made a huge jump on the court.  He averaged 20.3 ppg along with 6.4 rebounds.  While Tatum lit up the scoreboard, one could say Brown was the team’s best overall player when NBA action resumed in the Orlando bubble and it was mostly due to his positive attitude and commitment to team basketball.

Jaylen Brown has star leadership

Drafted No. 3 in the 2016 NBA draft, Jaylen Brown has been the very definition of how patience in a young talent can pay off.

Not only has Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens watched Brown’s personal game take off, he has seen a leadership that makes the players around him better.

"“One of the things that are most important about being a leader, especially when you’re a younger player in the league and people are already starting to look to you, is that you’re willing to serve other people and help them soar and become the best they can be,” Stevens said.  “You set a great example, and you do so within your own personality.  It’s important to be authentic and I think (Brown) is good at all three of those things.”"

That is why Jaylen Brown is the perfect Robin to Jayson Tatum’s Batman.  Not only is he morphing into an NBA star on and off the court, he is Tatum’s biggest cheerleader on the court.  He is also a resource for young players like Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith.
