Boston Celtics: Christmas wish list for every player on 2020-21 roster
The end of the Boston Celtics bench and G-league players
Carsen Edwards: The 2019 second-round pick will be entering his sophomore season with the Boston Celtics. He spent most of his time as a rookie riding the bench and watching his teammates play.
The former Purdue product was considered a garbage time player last season. This meant he rarely played meaningful minutes during games, rather he often was playing during times that mattered less.
If we see Edwards increase his shooting ability his Christmas wish may come true as he will earn more meaningful minutes in each game.

Tacko Fall: Fall wants to prove he isn’t just a big body with a long wingspan.
His 7-foot 5-inch height is one to behold as he is the tallest player in the league making perennial all-stars such as Joel Embiid, Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Jokic, and every other 7-footer in the league look short.
His one Christmas wish would have to be to get less time on the Celtics’ G-League team and more on the Celtics’ roster. Tacko Fall only played in 7 games last season as he averaged 3.3 points and 2.1 rebounds on his 5 minutes of play in these games.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get more minutes if he is to increase his stamina for this season.
Javonte Green: Green is a former Radford University guard who went undrafted, but he got his shot with the Boston Celtics.
Same applies to Amile Jefferson, a former Duke product who went undrafted, and has bounced around the league ever since. He had a stint in Minnesota and Orlando, and now the Celtics signed him for a minimum contract this season.
Both Jefferson and Green are 27 years old and need to fight for a spot on the Boston Celtics. Both of them have the same Christmas wish this year. They want a spot on this roster with adequate bench minutes, and a real chance to prove themselves.
Tremont Waters: Waters is a Boston Celtics point guard with a two-way contract to the G League. This means Waters will share time between the Celtics and their G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
Waters did this last season as well as he played an average of 10 minutes in 11 games on the Celtics’ roster. This season his wish is fairly simple. After some development last year in Maine, he hopes to gain more NBA playing time.
He hopes to be slated in the Celtics’ lineup for more games this season resulting in less G League time and more in the NBA.
