Boston Celtics: Jaylen Brown finally getting respect he deserves
By Sam Minton
It seems as though Jaylen Brown is always looked at as Jayson Tatum’s little brother. Tatum is the star of the Boston Celtics in many people’s eyes, not Brown, but Jaylen is finally starting to get some love across the NBA.
Brown is having another great season for the Celtics. He is averaging a career-high 25.8 points along with 5.8 rebounds.

You simply can’t ask for more out of Brown. He is not just scoring due to his athleticism. He has become a trusted perimeter shooter.
Brown is just leading the Celtics. In 2021 he is one of the best scorers in the NBA as the 11th best scorer in the league.
But don’t just listen to me, Magic Johnson has a lot to say about Brown.
Magic Johnson’s MVP candidates show that Jaylen Brown shouldn’t be overlooked by Boston Celtics fans.
Johnson gave his MVP candidates and Brown was able to crack the list.
Now, this might be going a bit too far, but Brown has had a great season. It’s time that Celtics fans realize how lucky they are.
Still, there is no discounting the fact that one of the best players in NBA history feels this highly about Brown. Especially since the Lakers and Celtics were bitter rivals during Magic’s playing days.
Brown is not Tatum’s little brother. The success of the Celtics is reliant on both of these players. If they are on top of their game, Boston could be lifting a banner in TD Garden relatively soon.
It’s also rather stunning that we are talking about Brown winning an MVP before Tatum. With how much Tatum was hyped its kind of hard to believe.
So it’s time that the rest of the NBA and people in Boston give Brown the respect he deserves. Tatum and Brown are two of the best young players in the NBA. We should just be lucky that we get to watch them play together on the same team.
