It’s safe to say that things have not been great for the Boston Celtics. They are spiraling out of control and need to fix things fast. Bringing fans back to TD Garden might seem nice, but it could make things worse for the team.

Boston has lost three straight games with Trae Young, Luka Doncic, and Zion Williamson dominating the C’s. It hasn’t been pretty.

The Celtics have shown zero effort at times. They have looked lifeless on the court and frankly are disrespecting the legacy of what it means to wear the Celtics jersey.

But could things change now after Massachusetts announced that fans will be returning at the end of March? Surely the Celtics will play better with a bunch of green teamers cheering them on. Even Tristian Thompson spoke about how excited he was to have fans back in the stands.

But the Celtics shouldn’t be excited about fans making their return. If anything they should be dreading it.

Why the Boston Celtics should be dreading the return of fans.

The Celtics could improve with the return of fans. That would definitley be the best case scenario even though it shouldn’t take fans returning for the team to start holding each other accountable.

But there is also a chance that the Celtics play even worse when fans return.

There is no doubt that Boston is under the microscope. They need to start playing better soon or else everyone will turn on the C’s.

If Boston is still struggling they could feel even more pressure once fans are in the building. It’s one thing to get blown out in an empty building, but when your fans are there and likely booing you, that can really hurt the morale of a roster.

Instead of getting up after getting knocked down, Boston’s dreams of any success in 2021 could be KO’d.

This would be devastating to the growth of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. After making it to the Eastern Conference Finals, Boston seemed primed for an NBA Finals run. If Tatum and Brown can’t win now, will they ever be able to?

So while it might seem like great news for the Celtics to have their fans back in the building, it could end up actually hurting the team.

dark. Next. Marcus Smart needed now more than ever

Right now we are going to see what Boston is truly made of. If they have that championship pedigree they will right the ship and make their way back to the top of the Eastern Conference.
