Patriots: Jalen Mills shows that Bill Belichick can build contender

As soon as Tom Brady left, Patriots fans thought that their bargaining chip had left, but in reality they still have a great asset when it came to attracting players to New England. That would be Bill Belichick.

Who wouldn’t want to play with Brady? He is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. You are bound to win a Super Bowl when he is your QB.

Year after year fans saw players come to New England on cheap deals just to get the opportunity to play with TB12. Brady showed his worth year in and year out with the talent he was able to bring in.

When Brady left, fans pondered if New England would be able to bring in promising free agents now that their best player was gone. After the Patriots spending spree at the start of free agency, it seems like all that worrying was unjustified.

On Monday, Patriots fans got to hear from the organization’s latest acquisitions. One of these being Jalen Mills.

Mills will likely play a key role now that Patrick Chung has retired. If the Patriots are going to succeed in 2021, they will need Mills to be at the top of his game.

But Mills said something that should make Patriots fans really excited. He said that one of the biggest reasons he came to New England was the opportunity to have Belichick as his head coach.

It seems that we are constantly hearing the same narrative regarding Belichick and the Pats Critics claim that they are no fun and that players dread playing for them.

But that simply isn’t the case. Even after struggling in 2020, players still believe that they can raise their stock and win by playing for New England.

This means a lot for the Patriots future. For a while, it seemed like New England would struggle mightily for the foreseeable future.

But now fans know that Belichick can still acquire talent. New England will still be able to bring in some great players no matter who is under center.

The Patriots have built themselves as an attractive franchise. It’s a place of rebirth where players can turn their careers around.

So don’t worry Patriots fans. 2020 might have been a long year filled with disappointment but after Mills comments, there is some hope and excitement among fans ahead of the 2021 season.
