The 2021-22 NBA season is nearly upon us, which means the return of Boston Celtics basketball is just around the corner. A return to action will be much welcome by both the players and the fans after last season’s disappointment filled campaign, and it will be interesting to see whether all the work put into fixing the roster this offseason will pay off.

The odds were stacked against the Celtics for pretty much the entirety of the previous season. After making it all the way to the Conference Finals the season before, they had minimal time to refuel and get ready for their next season. That much was clear during the season, in which the team was constantly beset by injuries, COVID outbreaks, and poor performances.

The same cannot be said this time around however. After being eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets in the first round last season, the team has had plenty of time to recover from a particularly grueling season of basketball. Now with a rebuilt roster and a fresh bill of health heading into the season, everyone is expecting a bounce back season from the Celtics.

Coming off a down season left a lot to be desired from this team, and as a result, some players on the Celtics might be entering make or break seasons. It’s clear with all the changes made this offseason that another middling .500 season will not be tolerated in Boston. Let’s take a look at the three players on the Celtics with the most to prove in the 2021-22 season.
