Why the New England Patriots should show cornerback Levi Wallace some love

Depending on what happens with J.C. Jackson, the New England Patriots could be on the search for a new No. 1 cornerback or out to add some depth at the position, primarily a true No. 2 position.

In whatever case, Bill Belichick may have some interest in Bills cornerback Levi Wallace, who, like Jackson, is a former undrafted rookie free agent who has established himself as a starting cornerback in the NFL.

Just 26 years old, there is still room for growth for Wallace who is coming off his best season in the NFL while keeping the Bills’ secondary intact in the absence of All-Pro cornerback Tre’Davious White.

In earning just $1.75 million in 2021, Wallace has played himself to a nice pay day with the Bills are some other teams in the NFL.  Perhaps that team may even be the Patriots, who Wallace has played solid against.

Like McKenzie in the previous slide, Belichick has seen a lot of Wallace.  If he is looking to replace Jackson at a cheaper value or add depth, the 6-foot-0 cornerback could and should be on the radar.  Praised by teammates, Wallace is a player who would fit in nicely with the Patriots.

"“Levi doesn’t get as much love as he deserves,” Bills’ safety Jordan Poyer said of Wallace. “He’s done a lot of really great things for our defense and made a lot of really great plays. I’m super proud of Levi and the way he’s handled his own, especially when Tre went down. But even when Tre was there, Levi has been making plays for the defense for quite a while.”"

You better believe Belichick has been paying attention and could be looking to show Wallace the love he deserves in trying to pry him away from the Bills.
