2022 was a year to forget if you’re a fan of the New England Patriots.

They were a pedestrian 8-9, with the crazy realization that they were a win away from a playoff spot!

But alas, they did not make the playoffs. A lot of the blame was put on the Patriots offense as a whole, specifically the coaching of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge.

However, people also need to realize that part of the reason for the Patriots demise on offense was the play of the offensive line.

It seemed like the Patriots o-line just couldn’t do a good job of protecting Mac Jones consistently during the season. So how can you quickly fix that line? One option might be in San Francisco by the name of Mike McGlinchey.

If you’re a fan of this New England Patriots team, you should want the front office to go out and sign the 6’8 McGlinchey.

The New England Patriots get a dominant tackle in Mike McGlinchey

Mike McGlinchey is one of the most dominant tackles in the entire NFL. Don’t believe me? Here are a couple of stats for you to ponder and drool over.

The former Notre Dame tackle played a career high of 1,210 snaps this season. In all of those snaps, he only allowed six sacks and 36 total pressures.

So let’s break that down even more for a minute. He allowed one sack per 201.5 snaps and one hurry every 33.6 snaps. That’s insane to even read and think about!

So it’s clear McGlinchey is really good at protecting the quarterback. Sure, it might cost the Patriots a pretty penny. But wouldn’t they want to improve the line in any way possible? Also considering they have money to spend this off-season? I would think so!

The New England Patriots get a MAJOR upgrade at tackle in Mike McGlinchey

If the Patriots were smart enough to sign the 49ers tackle away from San Francisco this off-season, it would be a massive upgrade over guys like Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn.

Trent Brown signed a two year extension last season, through 2023. At times, he looks so disinterested and lacks effort on his blocks. At other times, he looks like a top-level tackle. But that’s the problem. Brown is so inconsistent that he can’t be relied upon.

Then there’s Isaiah Wynn. At one point, Wynn was leading the NFL in penalties last season. That should tell you everything you need to know about him. He’s been in trade rumors, rumors of even being cut.

So guess what? McGlinchey could come in and immediately take the spot of Isaiah Wynn, and probably Trent Brown too; even though McGlinchey is naturally a right tackle.

The bottom line with Mike McGlinchey and the New England Patriots

If I’m the GM of the Patriots, I’m immediately getting on the phone with Mike McGlinchey’s agent.

Pats must get a star for Mac Jones like Tee Higgins. dark. Next

He knows what he’s doing at the right tackle position. The Patriots were in the bottom half of the league in sacks allowed. McGlinchey can sure up the right side of that offensive line. Then you’re just a left tackle away from having a really scary offensive line.

Make the call Bill. Spend the money, Get this offense to be as ready as possible for 2023!
