The New England Patriots have the remainder of the 2024 offseason to figure out exactly what players they are going to move forward with as building blocks of a rebuilding organization. From 1-53 on the roster, the Patriots need to make sure they aren't compromising the future of the organization by letting the wrong guys go...or keeping the wrong guys.

Heading into training camp in 2024, there are some clear situations on this Patriots roster where players may see their stock decline. Whether that's due to the fact that the team has added talent at their position or that they had a poor showing at OTAs, these six players need to bounce back in a hurry if they're going to stay on this roster in 2024.

6 Patriots players whose stock is falling before 2024 training camp

1. Bailey Zappe, Quarterback

Not only is Bailey Zappe's stock falling from a perception standpoint, but the former fourth-round pick is literally also tumbling down the depth chart. The Patriots seem very comfortable throwing veteran Jacoby Brissett into the starting lineup this year, perhaps for the entire season if he plays well enough. Brissett is a solid veteran option with a lot of starting experience who raises the floor of the room.

It's not just Brissett taking Zappe's practice reps, though. Rookie Drake Maye is rightfully the QB2 in New England at the present moment. The Patriots are going to have to be very intentional with each quarterback's menu of plays going into training camp, and Zappe figures to get the short straw.

The team needs Brissett taking starter reps if he's going to be "the guy" to open this season. They need to make sure Maye is getting plenty of time on task.

Even sixth-round rookie Joe Milton will need reps as the Patriots try and bring him along. Zappe is trade fodder at this point and will need to make sure his audition for other teams throughout the preseason goes as well as possible.
