The New England Patriots are one of the teams who have been constantly talked about this offseason.

It started when they changed coaches in January but things continued over these past couple of months.

Jerod Mayo and Eliot Wolf have put their imprint on this roster, shelving out a bunch of extensions to players in-house. They wanted to have some key guys locked in and continued that trend on Wednesday.

An aggravated defender just got his payday after he expressed his desire to get an extension done.

Patriots News: Davon Godchaux Agrees to Two-Year Extension With New England

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, defensive tackle Davon Godchaux and the Patriots agreed to terms on a two-year extension worth up to $21 million. He also gets $16.5 million guaranteed.

Godchaux has been vocal in wanting a new deal and even went on social media to express his desire to stay in New England long-term.

The 29-year-old has been with the Patriots since 2021 after being selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

Godchaux is known for being a stout run defender in the middle of the defensive end who eats up multiple blockers. The LSU product has compiled 183 total tackles, nine QB hits, and seven tackles for loss in three seasons with the Patriots.

Now he joins Jabrill Peppers, Josh Uche, Kyle Dugger, Hunter Henry, Mike Onwenu, Kendrick Bourne, Christian Barmore, Anfernee Jennings, and Rhamondre Stevenson as players who have received extensions from New England this offseason.

They have a nice list of guys who were here under Bill Belichick as they look to rebuild this organization. While they just inked an extension, the question surrounding the future of Matthew Judon hangs in the balance.
