Disgruntled Patriot Making Life Hard for Drake Maye at Training Camp
It's been an offseason of complete change for the New England Patriots. That's what happens when you change head coaches and general managers.
Regardless, there is a good vibe around the building as they look to rebuild this organization back up.
The Pats have done a nice job keeping some guys in town while adding quality rookies in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Despite giving out a bunch of extensions to guys in the building, as they did with Jabrill Peppers on Friday, one guy who hasn't received one is Matthew Judon.
Even though he has been seeking a new deal, Judon has made rookie Drake Maye's life difficult in practice.
Patriots News: Matthew Judon Picks off Drake Maye at Practice
In Friday's practice, Judon snagged an interception thrown by Maye. That was the rookie quarterback's first pick of camp.
Judon has been in New England since 2021 and has been an effective difference-maker. Over the past three seasons, he's recorded 133 total tackles and 32 sacks. He tore his biceps last season but has been rehabbing tirelessly to get back on the field.
As he heads into the last season of his four-year contract, he's made it known that he would like a new deal. Things have been shaky on that front, but despite that, the 31-year-old seems healthy and is causing havoc in practice.
He's also making life hard on Maye, who is looking to earn the starting gig.
We'll see if the Pats can find a way to keep Judon in town or if they'll part ways with the EDGE after the 2024 campaign.
