As the current 17th overall prospect for the Boston Red Sox, first baseman/third baseman Blaze Jordan has been excellent in 2025. As said before, he's been tearing it up in the minors, recently being brought up to Triple-A Worcester in June shortly before the Roman Anthony call-up.

Since his promotion to Triple-A, he's continued mashing. As of July 28, Jordan is hitting .288 (barring a recent slump), hitting six HRs, 11 doubles, and 24 RBIs, with an OPS of .808. So many were big fans of his since before he even made it to high school, hitting 500-foot home runs in Globe Life Park (the old Texas Rangers' stadium).

Jordan was selected in the third round of the 2020 MLB draft directly out of high school. He even graduated a year earlier than his class to make himself eligible. This means that he wasn't even 18 when drafted, and not a lot of 17-year-olds get drafted out of high school unless they're guys like Bryce Harper.

While he definitely isn't a Bryce Harper-like player, he's still a wonderful prospect who's taken the bull by the horns this season. But the question is, when will they give him that phone call?

This all depends on what happens at the deadline.

Red Sox Prospect Blazer Jordan is Potential Post-Trade Deadline Call-Up

If the Red Sox part with an extra roster piece, then someone will need to be called up. Many want Kristian Campbell to be brought up again, but the problem is, he was already rushed after the first sign of progress. They can't do that with him if they want him to be stable in the majors. He should stay in Triple-A Worcester, fully gain back his confidence, and then call him up in September or so.

In the meantime, the Red Sox can see if Jordan has what it takes to be a full-time MLB contributor.

But again, that's IF the Red Sox do anything at this year's deadline. If something happens and they part with an extra roster piece, it could very well be Jordan's time to shine.
