Revs Midfielder Jermaine Jones Removed From USMNT Roster
New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones was taken off the United States Men’s National team roster after he suffered a groin injury Sunday in a match against the defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles Galaxy.
Jones was added to the roster to participate in a pair of international friendlies at the Netherlands and at Germany prior to his club’s game at Gillette Stadium. He will not be reporting to camp for training sessions ahead of the matches.
Prior to halftime, Jones limped off the field with what the Revolution are calling a groin injury. Jones was not the victim of any sort of contact when the injury occurred. The playing surface was extremely slick due to down-pouring rain. The field’s conditions likely played a major factor in causing the injury.
