New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan had the game of his life against the Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense.

Every fan of the New England Patriots knew who Chris Hogan was entering the AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night, now the rest of the country knows who he is.

In the team’s 36-15 victory over the Steelers, Hogan lived up to his nickname of “7/11.”  This dude was just always open against a zone defense.  A former Lacrosse player, Hogan’s athleticism was on full display.  He exploded to haul in nine receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

Although his overall performance in the game wasn’t anything that could possibly be predicted, he showed glimpses throughout the season as he was as close to a deep threat weapon as Tom Brady has had since the days of Randy Moss.  While the NFL world was surprise, the performance did not surprise his teammates.

"“Amazing,” Patriots safety Duron Harmon said via Yahoo! Sports.  “He works hard, man.  Ever since he got here, I don’t know if it was he’s so eager for the opportunity, but I haven’t seen too many people put in the type of wok he does.  I mean, you always see him, Jules [Julian Edelman] and Danny (Amendola) together whether they’re catching the ball, running extra routes, working with Tom (Brady), they’re always doing something to get better.“He’s one of the last guys to leave the locker room, so it’s not by coincidence – what he does on the field on Sundays is not by coincidence. He does it each and every day, consistently… I’m excited for him.”"

Hogan entered the playoffs with no postseason experience and has delivered making big plays in both games.  He has shown just way the Patriots signed him in the offseason and felt he was worth the money they shelled out for his services.

LeGarrette Blount channels LeBron James: New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount did not have a huge game against his former team, but he did have a huge carry in the game that helped seal the deal.

Blount had a huge 18-yard rush in the third quarter in which he carried just about the whole Steelers’ defense to he goal line.  He followed up that run with a 1-yard touchdown run.  He then celebrated with “The Silencer,” a trademark move of one LeBron James.

The Patriots running back got the seal of approval from James, who tweeted:  “I see you @LG_Blount! Hit em wih “The Silencer.”
