Boston Celtics: Without Isaiah Thomas this team will not win a game in the Eastern Conference Finals
Isaiah Thomas has been ruled out for the remainder of the playoffs, and for the Boston Celtics that will probably mean two more games.
After an extreme high following the Boston Celtics Game 7 win over the Washington Wizards, things have come crashing down.
Boston was embarrassed in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Fans thought, “well, it can’t get worse can it?” It got worse.
Game 2 was even more lopsided as the first, as LeBron James and the Cavaliers had their way with the Celtics en route to a 44 point victory. Boston was embarrassed in back to back games on their home court. Making matters worse, if that’s possible, Isaiah Thomas left the game in the second half and did not return.
Now, reports have surfaced that IT is out for the remainder of the playoffs. Without Thomas, that probably means the Boston Celtics have just two more games to play this year. They’ll likely be swept by the Cavs who look unstoppable.

It’s okay. I know I will catch a lot of hate for bailing on the Celtics already, but does anyone in this city think realistically or with a clear, unbiased opinion?
The Celtics cannot compete with the Cavaliers, yet. They are still a piece or two away from truly contending in the Eastern Conference. They’re ahead of schedule right now. Give it a year or two and this series may be going much differently. The team will likely have Markelle Fultz on the bench and they should have a new star in the starting lineup. That star could be Gordon Hayward, Jimmy Buter or Paul George. You never know how these things will shake out, but I do know that next year’s Celtics team will be even better than this one.
So yes, the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to sweep the Boston Celtics and we will all have to suffer through another LeBron James NBA Finals, but there is hope for the future.

Games 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals will be played in Cleveland at the Quicken Loans Arena at 8:30 PM on TNT on Sunday and Tuesday.
