It’s no secret Blake Griffin has an interest in the Boston Celtics, but would he be willing to take a pay cut?
First thing’s first, I fully believe the Boston Celtics number one priority this summer is Gordon Hayward.  It should rightfully be Hayward, as he’d be a scoring wing Boston has been lacking since Paul Pierce was traded.
So what about Blake Griffin?
He’s going to command a lot of money, and someone is going to give him that money.  However, he’s been through years of mediocrity in Los Angeles.  Would Blake Griffin be willing to take a cheaper and shorter deal to play for the Celtics?

If he stays healthy, he could earn himself a max deal.  The new cap for the 2017-2018 season hasn’t been released yet.  However, the Celtics would have to do a lot of financial wiggling to get both Hayward and Griffin under the cap.  If I was Griffin, I’d look to cash in.  Which is possible on a team like the Oklahoma City Thunder if the cap shoots up to about $121 million.
The idea of an athletic and healthy Blake Griffin is fun.  He can still stretch the floor, but also finish with authority.  It’d be fun to have a guy IT can throw the ball to and watch him slam it through the hoop.  I definitely think Griffin has grown tired of the Clippers, and a change can be good for him.  He can remind everyone why he was the number one selection.
I’d throw a 2 year deal at Griffin, one that’s cheap and doesn’t constrain the Celtics.  There’s no way I see him actually taking something like that, but as we know the NBA is really unpredictable.  The Cavaliers might be collapsing, so hey maybe it’s worth a shot for a year or two?
