The Boston Bruins went out and played one of their best games this season defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0, so there was a lot to like on Saturday on the road.

The Bruins got both Anders Bjork and David Krejci back from injury for the game, and it was much needed. Krejci played almost 16 minutes and was plus-one in the game.

The scoring came from some rather familiar faces and one player was able to finally put his name on the scoreboard.

Ryan Spooner kicked off the scoring with a beautiful goal through the five-hole of Flyers goaltender Brian Elliot. It was his first of the season. Noel Acciari assisted on the goal with a great defensive play causing a turnover. He then fed Spooner with a great outlet pass.

In the second period, David Pastrnak scored his 13th goal of the season. Off of a faceoff, Pasta ended up with the puck right in front of the Flyers net and he sniped one past Elliot.

Later in the second period, Brad Marchand tallied his 9th goal of the season. Charlie McAvoy made a beautiful pass and Marchand finished the job with the backhanded goal.

Rask’s best game this season

There it is. It took Tuukka Rask 15 games but he finally is playing well. Rask stopped 28 shots in his best effort of the season. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy liked what he saw from the goaltender.

"“For him to find his game again and feel good about it, get wins, I’m sure he’s feeling really good about his game. And he should tonight. I thought he looked as comfortable as I’ve seen him and as square…really, really comfortable in there.”"

This is what Bruins fans expected from the veteran goaltender. If he can continue to play this well the Bruins should be able to get into the playoffs and once you get in anything is possible.

Boston is now back in the playoff picture. With 28 points, they are currently 10th in the East, just 2 points behind the 8th place Rangers. The Bruins are in Nashville on Monday night as they face off against the Predators. Anton Khudobin will be in net and it will be interesting to see how he performs after a couple of games off.
