The Boston Bruins are on their way to a deep run in the Stanley Cup playoffs. That’s why there is no need to make a move at the trade deadline.

The Boston Bruins are having one of their best seasons in recent history. They are only three points out of first place in the Eastern Conference with two games in hand on the Tampa Bay Lightning. If they were to make a move at the trade deadline it would cause more damage to this already amazing team than if they stuck with their current roster.

Now if the Bruins do make a move it won’t shake up their entire roster. The most likely targets are Rick Nash and Patrick Maroon. These players would be a veteran presence that still have great goal scoring ability, but the Bruins will be just fine without that.

The Bruins are dominating right now. Their first line is one of the best in the league. Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak have combined for 67 goals and 86 assists. Bergeron is having one of the best seasons of his career. He seems to be getting noticed Nationally as he is becoming an MVP candidate. This line seems like they were created to play hockey with each other.

That’s the thing about making a trade. No matter the quality of a player there is a feeling out period. The chemistry of the team is altered. This year the chemistry on this Bruins team is great. No one is pointing fingers, and everyone seems to gel with one another.

The young guns

Now a fear with the number of young players on a team is that they are going to hit a wall. At some point they have to take a step back right? This team doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. They may have a bad game such as their recent game against the Buffalo Sabres, but even when they go down you believe they can come back.

Charlie McAvoy is having an amazing season. McAvoy has scored 5 goals and 20 assists this season. He has proved that he is one of the best Boston Bruins draft picks in recent history. He is a top defenseman already and will only continue to get better.

There is also Danton Heinen who really came out of nowhere and became one of the top scorers on the team. Heinen has 12 goals and 26 assists this season and has shown his flexibility this season. It seems that no matter the line, Heinen is able to score. His home is on the third line alongside, Riley Nash and David Backes who are having impressive seasons in their own rights.

More from Boston Bruins

Jake DeBrusk has also excelled so far in the NHL. He has 11 goals and 18 assists this season and has been able to show off his great offensive ability this season. He seems to be getting more confident as the season progresses. His wrist shot is killer and should prove to be valuable in the playoffs.

The Vets aren’t so shabby either

I didn’t expect Zdeno Chara to have one of the best seasons this year. I thought it may even be his worst, but he is defying time with his season so far. He is leading the Bruins in ice time and has 5 goals and 11 assists this season. He seems to be able to keep up with players better this year and is having a great year in the defensive zone.

Torey Krug isn’t as old as Chara but is like him having a great season after struggling early on. Krug this season has 10 goals and 25 assists and is a top-five scorer currently for the Bruins. He is once again showing how much of a threat he is in the offensive zone.

The Boston Bruins goaltenders are having a great season as well. Tuukka Rask boasts a record of 22-9-4 including a recent 21 game points streak. Also, backup Anton Khudobin has been great in relief with a record of 12-3-4 with a goals-against average of 2.32 and a save percentage of .925.

Next: Yes, the Boston Bruins will win the 2018 Stanley Cup

All in all, I see a great team that has a great chance of taking home the Stanley Cup this spring. So as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”
