Boston Bruins: Charlie McAvoy headed to World Championships
By Sam Minton
The season may be over for the Boston Bruins, but some players till have some work to do in Denmark.
For Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy there is still work to be done. It was announced early on Wednesday that McAvoy will be headed to Denmark to join team USA in the Hockey World Championships.
This will be the second straight year that McAvoy will be playing for a national team. In 2017 he played for the gold-winning Junior team and had 2 goals and 4 assists in 7 games.
McAvoy is coming off a great season. In 63 games he had 7 goals and 25 assists. He proved that his postseason performance in 2017 wasn’t a fluke and that he will be a great top line defenseman for years to come. The only concern for Bruins fans is that McAvoy was dealing with an MCL injury late in the season. Hockey is such a fast game and you just hope that he will stay healthy.

Who else is traveling to Denmark?
McAvoy isn’t the only Bruin headed to Denmark. David Krejci and David Pastrnak will be playing for the Czech Republic and have already gotten to work. In their first game. On Wednesday, they combined for 2 goals and 3 assists.
I think this experience will be especially good for Krejci. He struggled a lot in the playoffs so he may be able to regain some confidence while playing for his country.
Next: Hockey players are insane
For Boston Bruins fans you can continue to scratch their hockey itch. The Bruins season ended earlier than some fans had hoped for, but at least we can still watch some of your favorite players play for their country.
