New England Patriots: Alex Guerrero denies blame for Julian Edelman’s suspension
By Sam Minton
The head of the TB12 clinic said that he is not responsible for the New England Patriots wideout alleged failed drug test.
Alex Guerrero has been the center of the storm all offseason. After the New England Patriots revoked his access to the sidelines Tom Brady’s relationship with the team has seemed to sour.
Guerrero runs the TB12 clinic. He is Brady’s personal trainer who Brady follows religiously and is the man behind the TB12 method. Julien Edelman, like many of Brady’s teammates, has worked with Guerrero, especially since his knee injury.
After the news of Edelman’s suspension, some were blaming Guerrero. So he spoke to NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran.

"“I’ve known Julian since his rookie year and he is a phenomenal athlete who takes his training seriously—it’s disappointing to hear today’s news. Elite athletes sometimes work with multiple coaches and health professionals as part of their training.”“Here at our facility, we take a natural, holistic, appropriate and, above all, legal approach to training and recovery for all of our clients. And anyone who would suggest otherwise is irresponsible, and just plain wrong.”"
This isn’t the first time Guerrero’s methods have been questioned. He has been sued by the Federal Trade Commision twice for making false claims about products. One product Guerrero was marketing called NeuroSafe claimed that it prevented and helped people recover from concussions. The FTC found no evidence that the product actually did what it said.
Guerrero’s future with the Patriots
Now Guerrero is Brady’s right-hand man. He caused the supposed rift between Brady, Bill Belichick, and Bob Kraft. Guerrero plays a big role in Brady’s life as you could see in Tom vs Time.
Even if Guerrero isn’t to blame this doesn’t help his relationship with the team. This may be bad news for the TB12 facility at Gillette. If the Patriots found out it was Guerrero they could shun him from the property. He will be the scapegoat. There is no way Brady could defend a guy who caused a teammate to fail a drug test.
Also, this could have some financial effects as Brady’s TB12 brand would take a big hit. If you want to find the exact numbers I bet Darren Rovell already has it up on his Twitter.

No matter what the truth is, the fingers will be pointed at Guerrero. If Julian Edelman truly failed a test, and it’s Guerrero’s fault he will be exiled from New England like a contestant on Survivor.
