The New England Patriots shouldn’t trade Rob Gronkowski
By Sam Minton
It seems that everyone is talking about the trade rumors surrounding New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowksi. If the Patriots pulled the trigger on a deal it would be a big mistake.
Last Friday there were rumors swirling that something big was going down. Something that would drastically change the New England Patriots. Twitter was abuzz as Patriots fans were refreshing their feeds waiting for the ticking time bomb to go off. Well thankfully it was a dud. Nothing happened and it was a false alarm.
The rumor was that the Patriots were going to trade Rob Gronkowski. A move that would send shockwaves around the league. Everyone around the team has denied the rumors (as you would expect). On the same day of the possible move Gronkowski called the rumors “fake news.”
But it appears that this fake news wasn’t that fake at all. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is reporting that Gronkowski’s name was involved in trade talks prior to the draft.

"“Per a league source, the Patriots were calling other teams about a possible Gronkowski trade as recently as three days before the draft. Coincidentally (or not), Gronkowski ended nearly three months of uncertainty regarding his future by declaring publicly that he would play in 2018 only two days before the draft.”"
The best ever
Gronkowski may be a weathered 7-year veteran, and his injury list is as long as an ancient scroll, but the Patriots would be making a big mistake by trading Gronk.
Taking into account his injury history, Gronk is still the best tight end in the NFL right now. Last season in 14 games he caught 69 catches for 1084 yards and 8 touchdowns. Those are some nice numbers. Whenever Gronkowski does decide to retire, he will go down as the best tight end in NFL history. There is no one who is as dominant and skilled as Gronk. Tom Brady can just lob a pass up and there is a 90% chance Gronk will come up with the ball. There will never be another Rob Gronkowski.

So the Patriots front office should be smart and realize that they will lose a main part of their offense if they trade Gronkowski
