The Boston Bruins need to re-sign Anton Khudobin
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins need a backup goaltender and after his success last season, Anton Khudobin should be the guy.
The Boston Bruins haven’t had a lot of success this offseason. They went after some free agents, and were able to re-sign Matt Grzelcyk, but have been rather quiet since then. The Bruins need to bring back some players from last year and Anton Khudobin should be a top priority.
Khudobin is coming off a great year. He played in 29 games and finished with a record of 16-6-7. “Dobby” boasted a save percentage of .913 and a 2.56 goals against average.
Khudobin can be a wild card with his technique and ability to make you nervous when he leaves the net to retrieve a puck, but he clearly gets the job done. He sprawls out to make amazing saves and ignited the Bruins roster with his stellar play.

Khudobin caught fire early on in the season going on a 9game point streak that included a 4 game winning streak. At one point Khudobin even took the starting job from Tuukka Rask.
Besides the roster spot, Khudobin seemed to light a fire under Rask. Rask came back better than ever after he was benched for Khudobin.
Khudobin will be looking to get paid after a nice season. He is coming off a 2 year $2.4 million contract. Khudobin is expecting a nicer payday than that.
The only issue is that the Bruins are currently in the race for John Tavares. He would take away basically all of the Bruins cap room.

Anton Khudobin is the Boston Bruins best option. He loves playing in Boston, and being Tuukka Rask’s backup is a pretty nice gig. Khudobin proved that he was worth the money last season. The Bruins would be stupid not to pay him.
