After a leaked video showed rather low ratings for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski a few weeks ago, EA Sports released their official ratings for Madden 19 and Pats fans should be much more happier.

If you love video games like I do you are already counting down the days until the newest installment of the Madden franchise is released. Fans get to take control of their favorite franchise and try to take them all the way to the Super Bowl (which is pretty easy when you play as the New England Patriots).

There was a leaked video that showed the ratings for Madden 19 and it left some Patriots fans upset. Tom Brady was ranked a 96 overall and Rob Gronkowski was a 92 overall. This was upsetting for a lot of reasons. Brady was the MVP last season, how could you not rank him as the best quarterback in the game? With that rating Aaron Rodgers would have been the best quarterback in the game.

Also Gronkowski’s rating of 92 had him behind guys who aren’t as good as him. Gronk is the best tight end in the league and one of the best pass catchers in the league. He was even ranked the 15th best player in the league by his fellow players. 92 overall seems a bit low for such a great player.

The true rankings

Well it appears those rankings were all false as the official ratings were released on Wednesday for the exclusive Madden 99 club and Gronkowski and Brady made the list.

Brady has a rating of 99 in Awareness, Stamina, Play Action, and Accuracy. Also he has a Throw Under Pressure rating of 96. These attributes show how Brady is one of the best pocket passers the game has ever seen. His ability to move in the pocket is top notch and is reflected by his Throw Under Pressure rating.

Speaking from experience Brady is a blast to play with in Madden. No matter if it’s on the virtual gridiron or the actual gridiron there isn’t a better player than Tom Brady.

Now Gronkowski’s ratings vary a bit more than Brady’s. Gronk has the highest rating in Stiff Arm, Trucking, Catch in Traffic and Release among tight ends. He is also tied at the top for Spectacular Catch rating.

These ratings show how Gronk is almost impossible to cover.  No ball seems to be out of his reach and once he gets off the line he is hard to stop. Also if Gronkowski is running in the open field there is a good chance he runs over a corner or two.

EA Sports got it right in their ratings and I can’t wait to take the virtual field with the New England Patriots when the game comes out in August.
