Boston Celtics: Robert Williams seems pretty motivated
By Sam Minton
One of the knocks on Boston Celtics 1st round pick is that his work ethic is lacking. Well Williams has clearly changed as he has been working out a lot since the draft.
One of the reasons that Robert Williams dropped all the way to the Boston Celtics is because there were questions about his love for the game. Scouts critiqued his work ethic and wondered if he would be able to survive in the NBA.
It seems like Williams has already adapted to the Celtics way of doing things. He has been putting in work ever since he was drafted.
This is some promising news. Especially after Williams missed his first conference call with the press after he was drafted.

Williams is a solid big man. He averaged 11.1 points and 8.7 rebounds a game while at Texas A&M. He is an athlete who can disrupt shots in the paint. Williams averaged 2.5 blocks per game in college.
Williams didn’t miss his introductory press conference at the Auerbach Center and spoke about his work ethic.
"“I work hard, and I know I can work hard and I’m a hard worker,” he continued. “Just being in this organization, like I said, knowing the morals of this organization, knowing what it takes to be in this league, definitely hyped me up and I’m ready to start.”"
A rookie to watch
I think Williams could be poised to have a solid season with the Celtics. He may not be a Jayson Tatum, but I expect him to be a bench player who can come in and play defense, and throw players off their game.
Williams may end up being the steal of the draft. When the Celtics made their pick it seemed like Danny Ainge pulled the wool over the entire NBA.
The sky is the limit for Williams and if he doesn’t work out it’s okay. It’s not like the Celtics traded up to get him.

It seems like Williams has turned a new leaf and Boston Celtics fans are excited to see what he can do in his rookie year.
