Malcolm Mitchell will be the Patriots leading receiver

Malcolm Mitchell missed all of last season with a knee injury, but he has the ability to be the New England Patriots leading wide receiver.

More from Chowder and Champions

In his rookie year Mitchell had 32 receptions for 401 yards and 4 touchdowns. He has shown that he can be a quality receiver, but there are still questions about his knee injury.

Mitchell was in and out of OTA’s and mini-camp. His knee still seemed to be bothering him. Since it is July and he has had some time to recover you would hope that he will be healthy enough for the regular season.

With Julian Edelman being suspended for 4 games, the Patriots will need all of the offense to step up. If Mitchell get’s some more targets he could put up some big numbers.

In his last game, Super Bowl 51, Mitchell had 6 catches for 70 yards. It is clear that Mitchell has earned Tom Brady’s trust and can be relied upon to make big catches.

2018 may be the season that Malcolm Mitchell turns heads around the league.
