Kyrie Irving hasn’t been very commital about returning to the Boston Celtics, but apparently Irving is enjoying his time in Boston.

Kyrie Irving is testing Boston Celtics fans this offseason. Irving hasn’t committed to coming back to the Celtics after next season, making a lot of Celtics fans nervous. The reports of him wanting to head to New York to play for the Knicks didn’t help either.

Now there is finally some good news on the Kyrie front. NBA reporter Keith Smith took to Twitter on Thursday night to dispel any rumors about Irving being unhappy in Boston.

"With Kyrie Irving in Las Vegas to watch the Summer Celtics it’s time to share this note from a team source: “Ignore that noise about Kyrie not liking it in Boston and about being jealous of the kids and the attention they get. This team is closer than any team I can remember.”"

This is definitely some good news. The Celtics have plenty of talent, but Kyrie is a special player. He has a killer instinct. Irving can flip a switch and it seems like no one can guard him.

More from Chowder and Champions

The rumors of Irving being jealous of the young guns is ludicrous. Why on Earth would Kyrie be jealous? He is the face of the Boston Celtics, and if he stays, will be for years to come. Irving wanted to leave LeBron’s shadow and Boston is the perfect opportunity for him to prove he doesn’t need LeBron to win a championship.

The most important takeaway

One of the more important takeaways from this is that the Celtics are a close team. I would assume if the team is as close as Smith hypothesizes, Irving would want to stay.

We have seen Danny Ainge and Marcus Smart joking around at summer league, and Jaylen Brown and Irving were cracking jokes in a video from Las Vegas.

After the Celtics devastating game 7 loss, Aron Baynes spoke about how losses can bring a team together. I think this team has the ability to win an NBA championship. Brad Stevens has built a winning culture in Boston and the C’s roster speaks for itself.

Next: Marcus Smart is C’s top priority

Finally things are starting to go the Celtics way, and hopefully Kyrie will be a Celtic for a long time.
