New England Patriots: Bill Belichick has no time for Malcolm Butler questions
By Sam Minton
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is already focused on the 2018 season. It doesn’t look like Belichick will be divulging why Malcolm Butler didn’t play anytime soon.
Some say the start of football season is when the first regular season game is played, but here in New England, the season doesn’t really start until New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick stuffs some local reporter in a locker during a press conference.
Well, it appears that football season is well underway. In the first press conference of training camp Belichick delivered a performance that reminds you why he is one of the greats.
Now some may hate that Belichick seems to never give real answers to questions (unless you are talking about special teams) but it is hilarious when he just dominates a press conference. It seems like Belichick takes pride in his inability to answer questions.

Is Dan Shaughnessy’s question valid? Definitely. After the Super Bowl, everyone wanted to know why Malcolm Butler didn’t play. It may go down as the worst decision Belichick has made as a coach.
Shaughnessy was just the sacrificial lamb. He knew Belichick wasn’t just going to divulge in detail why Butler didn’t play. Even Wonder Woman’s lasso of truth couldn’t force Belichick to spill the beans.
Belichick hasn’t been kind to the media for his entire career. I wouldn’t expect him to start now.
So we will probably never know why Butler was on the bench. It will be speculated on for years to come. Was it disciplinary? Did Belichick lose trust in Butler’s abilities? We truly may never know.

The only thing we do know is that Bill Belichick is focused on one thing, bringing the Super Bowl back to its rightful home at Gillette Stadium.
