With rumors about Kyrie Irving’s desire to leave Boston spreading like wildfire, the Boston Celtics main priority should be retaining the star point guard’s services.

It seems like this offseason is the Kyrie offseason for Boston Celtics fans. As soon as the Celtics were eliminated from the playoffs, Irving was being linked to opposing teams.

There is still a full season to be played, but you should be nervous about Kyrie leaving. The man is a top player in the NBA. You don’t get magically better by losing such a great player.

So even though the Celtics proved they may be able to win without Irving, here are 3 reasons the C’s need Kyrie Irving.

His offensive ability

Irving is the best with the ball in his hands. He had a great start to his Celtics career last season. In 60 games, Irving averaged 24.4 points and 5.1 assists.

Kyrie came in and performed right away. There is not a lot more that Celtics fans could ask for.

Even though he missed the end of the regular season Irving was still a top 10 scorer, and I don’t see him slowing down anytime soon.

If the Celtics let Kyrie go they lose a major part of their offense. Opposing defenses No.1 concern is stopping Irving. As soon as he steps on the court he has an impact on the game.

The Celtics would need one hell of an effort to replace Irving’s scoring.
