After not playing at all in the New England Patriots first preseason game, it  looks like Tom Brady will be getting plenty of snaps on Thursday.

If you weren’t going to tune into the New England Patriots 2nd preseason game on Tuesday night there is definitely a reason to now. Jeff Howe of the Athletic is reporting that Tom Brady could possibly play the entire first half.

After all the talk about this being the end of the Patriots dynasty, I think Patriots fans deserve to be reminded how lucky we are. Also we should be reassured that the Patriots are going to be one of the top teams in the NFL.

It will be interesting to see how Brady performs with this ragtag bunch. There has been a ton of concern about this year’s wide receiver group. With Julian Edelman suspended for a month we will be seeing some unfamiliar faces get some serious playing time.

What to watch on Thursday

Something to watch on Thursday is Brady’s chemistry with his new teammates. I hope to see him try and get Eric Decker and Cordarrelle Patterson involved early on.

Both of these guys have struggled so far in camp. Decker may possibly be cut due to his inability to catch balls and Patterson hasn’t fallen in Brady’s good graces. The Patriots need Patterson to be more than a great kick returner. They need him to be a quality receiver.

The Patriots quarterbacks weren’t so hot last week. Brian Hoyer and Danny Etling didn’t look like capable replacements for Brady. Even though Brady is 41, we hopefully won’t have to worry about him retiring anytime soon.

With the offense being basically nonexistent for the first half of the Patriots game, I expect a major improvement on Thursday night. Hopefully Brady will connect for a few touchdowns and ease the worries of Patriots fans.
