Boston Celtics rumors: There is no place like home
By Sam Minton
It seems like the rumors of Kyrie Irving leaving the Boston Celtics may have been a bit overblown. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski believes Irving will be staying in Boston.
Boston Celtics continue to get more and more good news. We know that Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward are all in on bringing a championship back to TD Garden and all signs seem to be pointing towards Kyrie staying in Boston for a long time.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is now yet another journalist who believes Kyrie Irving will be staying in Boston.
"“I still would take Boston against the rest of the field (in Kyrie Irving’s free agency next summer) because I still think, in the end, there comes a moment of truth when you look around and you have to make a decision about somewhere else,” Wojnarowski said, as transcribed by CelticsWire. “And when you really start inspecting the questions that are in almost any other circumstance you’d go to, you’d say, ‘Boy, it looks pretty good here.’”"
Boston is the right fit
If Kyrie really wants to win a championship there is no reason to leave.

Boston is primed for a great future. The C’s depth can only be matched by the Golden State Warriors. They will be favorites to make it to the NBA finals for years to come.
If Kyrie and the Celtics want to be successful everyone needs to know their role. We have seen that Terry Rozier and Jayson Tatum are ready and willing to come off the bench and aren’t upset at the possibility of not being in the starting five.
This may just be the stereotypical answer to give to the media, but Brad Stevens has built a great culture here in Boston. I don’t think he will have to worry about ego’s taking over this season.
At the start of the offseason, it seemed like Kyrie was just waiting to leave Boston. All the reports were saying where and who he wanted to play with. Now the tide is changing.
More and more basketball insiders believe that Kyrie was staying and I think we will keep on hearing that as the season continues to get closer. When the Celtics start winning it is going to be hard to leave.
If Kyrie decided to leave he would basically be giving up a championship. He would prove to everyone in the NBA that he doesn’t care about winning.
But thankfully it appears that Kyrie Irving has a good head on his shoulders and has fallen in love with Boston. If he can stay healthy and play like he did last season, Boston will love him back.
