New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is focused on the regular season and isn’t stressing over getting a new deal.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is definitely deserving of a new contract. He is the best tight end to ever play the game. No one is as dominant as Gronk.

Now that Odell Beckham Jr has gotten paid some were wondering how Gronkowski would feel. I don’t think Gronk is sweating it too much.

"“He’s a great player,” Gronkowski said about OBJ. “He comes up clutch in many situations and just his talent is second to none. It’s always good to see guys like that that got that talent — I’m in for the players always. I mean, I’m a player, so it’s good to see that.”"

Now naturally the questions turned to Gronkowski’s contract and it appears he isn’t stressing a ton.

"“It is what it is,” he said. “That’s not really my focus. I got a long season ahead and just trying to focus on what I need to really do and just let everything else play out.”"

Something to prove

Even though Gronkowski is the best tight end in the NFL, he definitely has something to prove this season. Gronkowski seems to always be on the sidelines. He seems to have a knack for getting injured.

If Gronkowski can play a full season, he will prove that he is worth the investment. If Gronk gets injured once again the Patriots may move on from the legend.

Bill Belichick is known for having a short leash. No matter how great you are if you start to show signs of a decline the Patriots will let you go.

I don’t want to see Gronkowski go and I don’t think he will be. He has a great opportunity early on in the season to show his greatness. With Julian Edelman suspended, Gronkowski will be Tom Brady’s No.1 target. If the big man can put up equally big numbers the Patriots will most likely give Gronk the deal he deserves within the next two years.

Next. Time to resume the Sony Michel hype. dark

The Gronk Spike belongs in New England. If Gronkowski went to another team it would just be difficult to watch.
