New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is entering his 9th season and it may end up being his best.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been dominating opposing defenses ever since he entered the NFL. Gronk is a beast and is very hard to tame. As he enters his 9th season, Gronkowski may be ready to have a career year.

There are a lot of questions about Gronkowski after a turbulent offseason. At one point it seemed like the tight end may end up retiring. Then Gronkowski gave an awkward press conference at Gillette Stadium for Monster Energy where he was making a mockery of the New England Patriots.

Finally Gronkowski assured fans that he would be playing this season and is now looking to bring home another Lombardi trophy.

More from Chowder and Champions

Some would say that Gronkowski could have a bad season. His injury report seems to get longer by the minute. He isn’t the spry chicken he used to be.

Still Gronkowski could have a dominant season. So here are 3 bold predictions for Rob Gronkowski’s 2018 season.

Gronk will have a career year

This could be Gronkowski’s best season yet. With Julian Edelman out for the first month of the season, Gronk will get plenty of targets.

I expect Gronkowski to start the season fantastically and that will carry over even when Edelman returns.

Since Gronkowski will be Tom Brady’s No.1 option, I think he will eclipse 100 receptions for the first time in his career. Also I think Gronkowski will have a career high in touchdowns. Gronkowski’s career high is 17 touchdowns, this season I expect him to have 20.

Gronkowski should get plenty of red zone targets, and I think he will have some big plays early on. That adds up for plenty of Gronk spikes this season.
