New England Patriots: Contrary to popular belief Rob Gronkowski is good
By Sam Minton
Even though Jacksonville Jaguars corner Jalen Ramsey doesn’t believe so, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is a living legend.
In the year 2018 I didn’t expect to have to defend New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. How on Earth could you not realize that Gronk is an amazing tight end? Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey begs to differ.
ESPN did a profile on the trash talking corner and Ramsey had no filter. Especially when it came to talking about Gronkowski.
"When I mention that the Patriots still have All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, he makes a face. “I don’t think Gronk’s good.” Registering my involuntary blinking, he course-corrects. “Let me say — I don’t think Gronk is as great as people think he is.” Before the Patriots game, he explains, he had the Jaguars’ analytics staffers pull some numbers for him. “Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he’s had a very bad game — and that corner has had a very good game.”"
Now Ramsey backtracks and says how Gronk just overhyped, but sorry Jalen you are wrong.

When Gronkowski retires he will go down as the best tight end to ever play the game. He completely redefined the position.
Gronkowski’s impact is also in the stats. In 8 seasons Gronk has 474 catches, 7179 yards, and 79 touchdowns. He has the most touchdowns in a single season for a tight end and I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up passing Antonio Gates for the most career touchdowns when he decides to retire (He only needs 38 more)
Also Gronk has done all of this while being mauled in the open field. Gronkowski and Cam Newton have very similar hardships in today’s game. Since Gronkowski is so large and athletic, referees barely throw flags on defenders for pass interference. Defenders can basically do whatever they want to Gronkowski.
Who can forget when Luke Kuechly was all over Gronkowski in the end zone late in a Monday night game versus the Carolina Panthers, but no flag was thrown. Even in the last matchup between the Jaguars and Patriots Gronkowski missed the second half after Myles Jack launched himself into Gronk’s helmet.
The Patriots and Jaguars face off in week 2 and I personally can’t wait to see Ramsey get destroyed by Rob Gronkowski and the New England Patriots offense.
