It may only be the second week of the New England Patriots season, but their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars could make or break their team.

In New England, small things become big things. Tom Brady isn’t wearing Patriots gear? He must want to leave. The New England Patriots constantly are under the microscope.

That can lead to some insane observations, but this week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is the most important game for the Patriots this season.

The New England Patriots are at the top of the mountain and the rest of the AFC is trying to throw them off. Until Tom Brady and Bill Belichick retire this will be the case.

More from Chowder and Champions

So even though the NFL season just began, here are 3 reasons why the Patriots Week 2 battle against the Jaguars is the most important game of the season.

A major test for the offense

The Jaguars have one of the top defenses in the NFL. When you have Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye patrolling the field, things can become difficult for opposing offenses. Then you add in the fact that the Jaguars have a quality front 7, and it can seem impossible to score.

Facing the Jaguars with a healthy roster would be a challenge. When you are missing one of your top targets, it is like taking a final exam without studying.

This will be a big test for the New England Patriots offense. If Tom Brady can carve up the secondary with the likes of Chris Hogan and Phillip Dorsett catching the ball, it will prove that the man can do anything. The Patriots offense will be basically unstoppable.
