When Josh Gordon was first acquired by the New England Patriots there was some skepticism to the move. In his first few weeks, Gordon has established a spot on the Patriots roster.

The New England Patriots took a big risk in acquiring Josh Gordon. Gordon has had plenty of off the field issues and has struggled to stay on the field. But ever since Gordon arrived in New England he has only had a positive impact.

Gordon has adjusted to the Patriot way rather quickly. Unlike some wide receivers who enter the  Patriots system late, Gordon has easily grasped the Patriots playbook.

This is pretty impressive. Some great wide receivers were unable to succeed in New England. For Gordon to fit in seamlessly he has to have a high football I.Q.

Now there have been some mistakes. Most notably being in the first half of the Patriots Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Gordon appeared to run some routes incorrectly but still had a rather good game.

Gordon is putting up some nice numbers in New England. In 3 games with the Patriots, he has 9 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

It seems that Bill Belichick is enjoying having Gordon on the roster and doesn’t plan on getting rid of him anytime soon.

"“We don’t sit there and count snaps during the game, but I would just say his role is expanding weekly, and we’ll just see how it all plays out.”"

The Patriots might have committed the trade of the year. All signs are pointing to Gordon being a major part of the Patriots offense. Tom Brady already trusts him and is giving Gordon plenty of targets. I think we can expect Gordon to be the Patriots 2nd wide receiver for the rest of the season.

The Patriots once again made the rest of the NFL look like fools. Hopefully, Josh Gordon can stay out of trouble and will stay in New England for a long time.
