New England Patriots: Trade deadline a failure for team
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots were looked at to be buyers at the NFL trade deadline but ended up coming home with nothing.
Another NFL Trade deadline has passed and this year the New England Patriots have nothing to show off to fans. We have seen the team be active before, but even with all the rumors surrounding the Patriots making a move, the team was relatively quiet.
Now I am kind of happy the Patriots didn’t make a move. This roster is definitely capable of making a run in the playoffs.
With Sony Michel back the Patriots have a great running game. The Patriots should take their time in bringing Michel back and make sure he is 100 percent healthy.

Also when they are clicking, the New England Patriots passing game is the best in the entire NFL. Last night we saw how great Julian Edelman is, and that Rob Gronkowski is still capable of making amazing plays.
Now with all that in mind I am disappointed in the Patriots.
A name that has been tied to New England is Golden Tate. Tate was one of the Detroit Lions best receivers. Tate racks up catches and usually manages to reach 1000 receiving yards.
The Patriots could have used a guy like Tate to help Tom Brady out. Even though New England has Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, and Rob Gronkowski, Golden Tate would make the Patriots offense pretty unstoppable.
The main thing that grinds my gears is that Tate didn’t cost a lot. Tate eventually went to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2019 3rd round pick. That is a bargain.
The Patriots have two 3rd round picks. Why wouldn’t you get rid of one to get an awesome wide receiver? With Tate on the roster, the Patriots would be far and away the top AFC team and the favorite to win the Super Bowl.
So I have no idea what the New England Patriots are thinking. They should have acquired Golden Tate, especially if he only cost a 3rd round pick.
