Boston Bruins: 3 takeaways from thrilling victory over Dallas Stars
By Sam Minton
The Boston Bruins were victorious on Monday night in a quality overtime win. This was one of the team’s best games of the season so far.
What a win for the Boston Bruins. The B’s looked great on Monday night. It appeared that the Bruins needed some home cooking.
The Bruins defeated the Dallas Stars 2-1 in overtime and looked pretty good doing it. The Bruins just looked so good. It wasn’t just the first line either. Everyone (well almost everyone) played great.
The defense was making great passes to get the Bruins offense going, and once Boston got into the Stars zone they were peppering Anton Khudobin with shots.

Patrice Bergeron continued to be the straw that stirred the Bruins drink. Bergeron was a part of all the Bruins goals.
The referees once again had an awful game. They took away a goal from Anders Bjork because they had a quick whistle and blew the play dead even though the puck wasn’t covered. With the Bruins first line being so dominant it would have been nice to see someone else besides the top guys light the lamp.
Then late in the 3rd period, the Bruins were forced to kill an awful penalty. Torey Krug gave a slight push to a Stars player near the boards, and the refs decided to call a penalty for no reason. Krug didn’t drive the guy into the boards it was a stupid call. Krug was pissed and I don’t blame him.
So here are my 3 takeaways from the Bruins 2-1 overtime victory over the Dallas Stars.
