New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is facing criticism following a Week 10 embarrassing loss to the Tennessee Titans.

The only thing worse than the 34-10 beatdown the New England Patriots suffered at the hands of the Tennessee Titans in Week 10 is all the overreaction takes that will occur over the next two weeks, particularly when it comes to Tom Brady.

On Sunday, the reigning NFL MVP didn’t look like an MVP or like Tom Brady.  A lot of that can be pinned on the awful offensive line performance, but some of that blame could be put on Brady and he knows it.

In completing just over 50 percent of his passes for a pedestrian 254 yards with no touchdowns, Brady made some rush throws and tried to force the ball too many times to Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman.

More from Chowder and Champions

The 41-year-old quarterback was the first to admit he missed some opportunities, but it is amazing how critics and Tom Brady haters like Max Kellerman forget the good performances to support their own case of the great Brady demise.

The First Take co-host has been waiting with bated breath for the day Brady and the New England Patriots dynasty to crumble.  Following the team’s 3rd loss of the season, Kellerman was in his glory.

"“Tom Brady has a wet noodle for an arm right now,” Kellerman gushed on the ESPN debate show.  “Let’s just say what it is.  They’re dinking and dunking teams to death…. And Gronk isn’t the same.  Not the same.  So now you don’t have an elite, playmaking difference maker on offense. You have a quarterback who really can’t throw the ball down the field right now.  When he tries to put mustard on the ball, it doesn’t look the same.  Let’s be honest about it.”"

While the overall numbers this season could support Kellerman’s claim, it’s not like Brady hasn’t had some adversity to overcome.

The Patriots has been without Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski at periods of time and new favorite target Josh Gordon wasn’t even with the team.  Once those players are all on the field at the same time, along with James White, Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead, let’s see what kind of quarterback Brady is.

Until then, the Max Kellermans and Rob Parkers of the world and gloat about the demise of the G.O.A.T all they want.  This is just what a player like Tom Brady wants and may just be what he needs to get his head and intensity back into the game.  While he has said his teammates need to play with a sense of urgency, he does as well.

We will see who has the last laugh this season.

Julian Edelman’s ankle injury not serious

One of those weapons Tom Brady will need down the stretch run of the NFL season is Julian Edelman.

After leaving Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Monday via Twitter that the injury is not considered series and he is not expected to miss much time if any time at all.

In a game in which most of the team didn’t show up, the New England Patriots receiver caught nine passes on12 targets for 104 yards and is starting to look like his old self.  The upcoming bye week will give him some extra time to rest and heal up as it will for the entire team.
