Boston Bruins: Team needs to get rid of Kevan Miller
By Sam Minton
Kevan Miller may be a quality defenseman, but the Boston Bruins need to get rid of the defensemen.
This season has been the season of injuries for the Boston Bruins. Everyone seems to be getting hurt, especially one player.
Kevan Miller just can’t seem to stay on the ice.
Miller was injured early on in the season with a hand injury. He missed about a month leaving the Bruins shorthanded for a while.

Now Miller is injured once again. A puck hit him in the throat and he is now going to be out for at least 5 weeks. Luckily for the Bruins, Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo are nearing a return so they should be able to deal with the injury.
Now I love Kevan Miller. He is a solid player who can drive someone through the boards. Miller is the only true enforcer that the Bruins have but even with all of this in mind, Boston needs to get rid of him.
Miller gets hurt way too much. This just comes with his style of play. Miller is a physical player who sets the tone with his hits. You are bound to get hurt here and there.
Boston just doesn’t need Miller anymore. The Bruins have so many young defensemen who have stepped up. Jeremy Lauzon and Connor Clifton look like NHL caliber defenseman.
Lauzon has looked especially promising. He has looked great on the ice and has been solid in the Bruins zone.
The Bruins also have a veteran who can step in and fill out the bottom of the Bruins defensive pairings. Steven Kampfer is a solid veteran presence who isn’t afraid to drop the gloves.
It’s not like the Bruins will be missing Miller’s scoring or his amazing defensive play. He is an average player. Once he is healthy the Bruins should try and move him for a forward to help even out the roster.
Kevan Miller is a great player to watch as a fan, but his days of helping the Bruins seem to be over.
