Boston Celtics rumors: The push for Anthony Davis has begun
By Sam Minton
Anthony Davis made his first trip to Boston and spent some time chatting with Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving. Sounds like some “recruiting” to me.
(Disclaimer: If anyone in the NBA league office is reading this in no way am I saying that the Boston Celtics would ever tamper. Just two guys having a chat.)
The Boston Celtics played the New Orleans Pelicans for the first time in Boston this season and it was one hell of a game. Even without a good chunk of their top players, they managed to beat the Pelicans.
Gordon Hayward, Kyrie Irving, Al Horford, Aron Baynes, and Guerschon Yabusele were all out due to injuries. That means there would be a new look lineup and you would get to see some guys who struggle to get minutes playing a decent chunk of time.

Now even though I’m glad the Celtics walked away with the victory, there was other business to attend to. This was Anthony Davis’s first visit to Boston this season.
Davis got a heroes welcome and got a loud cheer from the crowd. Somewhere Jae Crowder just felt his spidey senses tingling because he hates when the Boston Celtics crowd cheers for opposing players.
Once again Anthony Davis did Anthony Davis things. He had a phenomenal game scoring 41 points and 7 rebounds. Just imagine having that type of player on the Celtics roster. That would be amazing.
After the game there was more “work” to be done. Jayson Tatum and Kyrie Irving struck up a conversation with Davis. Irving talked to Davis for a decent amount of time. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that conversation.
It seems like all the pieces are being put into place. The Anthony Davis to Boston train is chugging along at an epic rate. Davis coming to Boston seems like a near certainty at this point.
If you are sick of hearing about Anthony Davis to Boston rumors I would recommend some earmuffs, because the conversation won’t be ending anytime soon.
