Kyrie Irving had a wonderful Christmas and dominated the Philadelphia 76ers. The Boston Celtics point guard is playing out of his mind.

What a Christmas it was for Boston Celtics fans!

We got to see the team wear their newest uniforms, they won a thrilling game, and Kyrie Irving absolutely dominated.

More from Chowder and Champions

A win against the Philadelphia 76ers is great enough. The rivalry between these two teams is back after a wild series in the postseason last year. Who can forget the infamous premature confetti?

The star of the game was clearly Irving. Kyrie went off scoring 40 points with 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

Kyrie was doing what he usually does. He made clutch threes, had some amazing drives to the rack, and was dribbling like he had the ball on a string.

The most impressive play for me came early in the game. Irving found a way to steal a rebound from Joel Embiid of all people and then had an easy layup.

That is the hustler that you love to see. Joel Embiid towers over Irving so he could have just assumed that he had no chance, but he saw an opening and made a great play.

This is just another impressive performance for what has been an impressive season for Kyrie Irving. He has been a constant leader for the C’s.

So far Kyrie is averaging 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists a game. Irving has become a very well rounded player. He has even improved greatly on defense.

This was a great Christmas for Boston Celtics fans. Hopefully, this will be a game that the team can build off. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Celtics go on a nice winning streak.

Boston is only 4 games back from 1st place in the Eastern Conference. If they can string together some wins they will be at the top of the conference in no time.

Next. Celtics are going to miss Aron Baynes. dark

If Kyrie Irving can continue to have performances like this he will definitely be a contender for league MVP.
