With the NBA trade deadline heating up, Enes Kanter is a player that could be joining the Boston Celtics.

NBA trade deadline day is an amazing day for basketball fans. Crazy trades occur and the state of the league can flip in an instant. The Boston Celtics don’t want to be left out of all the fun.

The Celtics have to wait to acquire the man of their dreams, Anthony Davis. He can only be acquired once Kyrie Irving has re-signed or off the roster thanks to the wonderful “Rose Rule.”

On deadline day there is one name being floated around that the C’s could acquire, Enes Kanter.

More from Chowder and Champions

This would be an interesting move because Kanter is a quality player. This season he is averaging 14 points and 10.5 rebounds a game. This is pretty stunning considering he is on a horrible New York Knicks team.

Al Horford has other great qualities that make him a good player like his ability to move the ball, but Kanter has better numbers than him. A Horford-Kanter duo would be interesting to see.

The Celtics should be smart and not rush a deal. If the Knicks are unable to find a trade partner they will most likely buy out the center. That means the C’s could keep all their assets and still gain a quality big man.

There is no reason to give up one of your young players or a key bench player to acquire Kanter. Danny Ainge should be patient and wait to sign the big man once he is bought out. Then the Celtics can lure him with a chance at an NBA Finals run and get him for a cheap deal.

Next. Sounds like Jayson tatum is leaving. dark

Enes Kanter would be a solid acquisition to increase the depth of the Boston Celtics. He would be a quality acquisition that could improve the C’s chances of getting to the NBA Finals.
