New England Patriots rumors: Team has found Brian Flores’ replacement
By Sam Minton
Brian Flores is now the head coach for the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots have already found his replacement.
We are only a few days removed from the New England Patriots Super Bowl win, but there are already some changes being made.
Brian Flores quickly became one of the hottest head coaching commodities in the NFL. Even in 2017 Flores was getting some head coaching offers.
Flores was one of the main reasons for the New England Patriots success this season. He completely transformed the Pats defense as you could see in Super Bowl LIII.

Now Flores is heading South for Miami and is taking some of his Patriots friends with him. Wide receivers coach Chad O’Shea is going to be the Dolphins offensive coordinator.
The New England Patriots didn’t waste any time finding Flores’ replacement. New England is going to hire Greg Schiano as their new defensive coordinator.
Schiano rose to prominence after his success at Rutgers. In 2006 he led the Scarlett Knights to an 11-2 season.
Then Schiano made the jump to the NFL and wasn’t so hot. He only coached 2 seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had a record of 11-21. Schiano’s only hope was going back to the NCAA.
It will be interesting to see how Schiano does in New England. The Patriots are coming off one of their best defensive seasons in recent history. New England Patriots fans will be expecting more of the same in 2019.
If the New England Patriots start giving up a ton of points next season they will be in trouble. I don’t know if the team will be able to succeed if they have to put up 30 or 40 points a game.
Schiano has coached some of the former Rutgers players on the team and has a strong relationship with Bill Belichick, but that doesn’t guarantee he will be succesful in New England.
