This appeared to be Rob Gronkowski’s last season as a member of the New England Patriots but the tight end has been at Gillette Stadium a lot this offseason.

2018 was an interesting season for Rob Gronkowski. He struggled a lot but he showed up when the New England Patriots needed him.

We were used to seeing Gronkowski dominate opposing defenses making amazing catches. This season that was a rarity.

Throughout the regular season, Gronkowski struggled. He struggled to get open and failed to be a red zone target. Gronkowski only played in 11 games and had 47 catches for 682 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Now, these numbers are okay, but a far cry from Gronk’s prime. We saw Gronkowski score a touchdown in the New England Patriots first game and not return to the end zone until Week 11.

Then in the playoffs, everything seemed to click. It was like the regular season was a warm-up. The AFC Championship and the Super Bowl were some of Gronkowski’s best games of the season.

In the Super Bowl, Gronk made a key catch that set up the only touchdown of the game. It was a catch that made us feel like Gronkowski was back to his true form.

Now that the season is over, the question is will Rob Gronkowski retire? The tight end once again had to deal with injuries and was not himself. It would seem likely that he hangs up his cleats, but maybe that isn’t the case.

According to Mike Reiss, Gronkowski has been a constant presence at Gillette Stadium since the season ended.

This isn’t something that Gronkowski has to do. He may just be getting treatment, but the fact that he is still at the facilities makes it seem like he is returning. If Gronk was going to retire why would he be there?

I was definitely someone who thought that Rob Gronkowski would retire, but now I am not so sure.
