Jayson Tatum said the Boston Celtics are going to win the 2019 NBA Championship which is a pretty bold claim to make.

Jayson Tatum had an awesome All-Star weekend and made a pretty bold claim about the Boston Celtics. Tatum believes that the C’s are going to win it all.

Now I am not surprised. If Jayson Tatum didn’t believe the team would win the championship I would be concerned. Still, this is a bold move for the 2nd year forward.

The Boston Celtics haven’t had the season that fans were hoping for. Boston struggled mightily early on. It seemed like they were just out of sync.

More from Chowder and Champions

A lot of fans thought that Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward would seamlessly return to the lineup. That wasn’t the case. It seemed like Boston had to find their rhythm again.

It seemed like Boston was going to run away with the Eastern Conference. They got all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals without Irving and Hayward. So it seemed like adding the duo would make them even better.

Right now Boston is in a race for the East. The C’s have a record of 37-21 and are 4th in the conference.

It seems like the Celtics are headed in the right direction though. The team has won 12 of their last 15 games.

Tatum has once again been one of the best scorers on the Celtics. He struggled like the rest of the team early on but he is now hitting his stride. Tatum is averaging 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds a game.

If Tatum wants to make his dream a reality he will have to improve. Tatum needs to become the beast that he was in the playoffs last season. Even though he was a rookie he almost led the C’s to the NBA Finals without their top two players.

Boston Celtics fans are definitely hoping that Jayson Tatum follows through on his promise and brings banner 18 to the TD Garden.
